In an effort to encourage people to shop locally, Village Connection Magazine has introduced the Village Connection Discount Card. The Village Connection Discount Card gives our readers the savings of a coupon with the convenience of carrying one card that can be used at multiple locations throughout Huntington.
All Village Connection advertisers have the option to participate by offering a standard 10% discount, or an offer may be customized for an individual business. Last minute deals and special offers are also announced throughout the month through the Village Connection’s social media network.
The “Get Connected” card is distributed throughout Huntington by our network members and at various local events throughout the year. If a cardholder is deciding on a restaurant to go to, and one of the restaurants offers a discount with the Village Connection Discount Card, that might be the deciding factor. Another goal is to entice people to try something new. Participating businesses include everything from home improvement to photography, car dealers, kitchen appliances, restaurants, jewelry stores, salons and more. The card encourages people to use their discount and give them a try.
By shopping local, you’re helping the financial value of our community. If you have a strong, healthy financial business community, your home value and your property value reflect that. By putting money into the local economy, you’re helping yourself in return.
