He began his career shooting for local Long Island press, then made his way to New York City, where he captured the fashion elite on film for top modeling agencies. His work has been featured in Cosmopolitan, Redbook, The New York Times, Studio and Esthetica. John’s work has graced the cover of Newsday and has been showcased in Modern and American Salon Magazines and National Geographic Traveler. Each season John can be seen shooting behind the scenes during New York’s Fashion Week.

Must-Have Styles from Huntington Hot List
Beauty and fashion are amped up for 2012, and we’re taking cues straight from the fashion runways with our new Rock of Ages winter hair and makeup collection, making its debut in this month’s Village Connection! It’s all part of the Winter Huntington Hot List of must-haves straight from Huntington.
Huntington’s gorgeous Paramount Theater provided the backdrop for this stunning collection. Bond Blondes are sexy with a dangerous, wild-child attitude. VIP is a red like no other, with violet undertones and a depth of color that’s too hot to handle, too cool to not take notice. Velvet Rope is the new brown: layers of velvety color – luscious cranberry reds, hues of blue, a mystical mix that’s risqué, striking, unforgettable.
While shaggy, longer bobs of full, healthy locks are vocal this winter, rockstar crops that are buzzed in back with texture and height on top are also very hot. Natural waves take center stage in longer looks. Bangs are back with edgy, jagged fringe. These compliment winter’s funky leopard prints, layered see-through tops full of shimmer, skintight leather pants and above-the-knee skirts climbing ever higher.
Give creative license to curls with light products such as Aveda’s Be Curly Style Prep in combination with a flax aloe gel on damp hair to enhance its natural wave,” continued Vater. “Limit frizz with a curl enhancer, blow dry on low with a mild heat. Shape curls with your fingers to tease out that natural texture.
Beauty grabs the spotlight with super long, thick lashes. Eyes are heavily outlined in smoky blacks and browns, lids shimmer in metallic shades of silver and gold that demand attention. Pops of purples and other vivid colors dot the corners of the eyes. Lips shimmer in ultra-glossy nudes or lighter berry-reds. Cheeks have a subtle rosy glow.
