Dreamscapes
To the delight of her many fans, Jo-Ann Corretti has been creatingstrikin gly-colored paintings which celebrate Long Island’s most beloved landmarks, lighthouses and beaches for more than 30 years. The award-winning artist recently turned her attention to photography, with equally breathtaking results.
Jo-Ann said that she felt a renewed sense of creativity when she realized that she could use digital technology to pump up the volume of photographs, transforming them into works of art that reflect her unique vision.
Using Photoshop, Jo-Ann digitally modifies colors so that
they are more vivid and eye-catching than those found in nature. She calls these color-enhanced images “dreamscapes.”
“I try to give my photographs a pen and ink and a painterly quality,” Jo-Ann said of these “dreamscapes” which bridge the gap between photography and art in a way that is both aesthetically pleasing and imaginative.
